Project Overview

OrganOx supplied an incomplete 3D file originally built for manufacturing — useful for engineers, not for marketing. I turned it into a presentable product asset and animated it for web and conference use.

Impact

Videos and images now feature on the OrganOx website and were showcased at their product conference. The rigged model is being used for ongoing animation tutorials, supporting OrganOx’s educational and marketing work.

Rebuilding for purpose

OrganOx supplied an STL file straight from the manufacturer — built for production, not presentation. Working from reference images, I modelled every missing component to complete the asset for marketing use.

Narrative first

I drafted the storyboard defining how the machine would be represented: a clear visual narrative showing how it keeps a donor liver alive in transit.

Rigging and animation

Once the model was approved, I rigged the moving components so the device could demonstrate its function on screen, animated in Blender and finished in DaVinci Resolve.

Two audiences, one asset

The same rigged model served two very different jobs: a five-minute promotional film for conferences and the website, and twenty bespoke step-by-step tutorials for clinical staff — covering how to operate the machine, the order components are assembled, and what to switch on and when. Clear, accurate sequence and pacing mattered more than spectacle: a nurse has to be able to follow every step.
